The Australian Space Discovery Centre was officially opened on 31 March 2021. Based at Lot Fourteen in the heart of Adelaide, the Centre provides science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, engagement and inspiration for young Australians.

The Australian Space Discovery Centre (ASDC) offers visitors a chance to learn about mission control functions, as well as host activities such as mission simulation and training for tertiary education. The Centre is the National Science and Technology Centre, Questacon’s first permanent exhibition outside Canberra.

The Centre hosts:

  • a Careers Hub showcasing job opportunities in the local space industry
  • an operational Mission Control Centre, viewable through a theatrette for live space events, guest speakers and opportunities to engage with space experts
  • a space exhibition featuring hands-on experiences and information on Australia’s growing space sector
  • information on STEM education options for young people to explore pathways for a future in space

The ASDC will be open to the public from 5 May 2021. Bookings are essential and are for a 60 minute visit per ticket running from 10am to 4pm Wednesday to Sunday. People of all ages are welcome to visit the Centre however the career and exhibition information is best suited to children aged 12 and above.
